House Sitting [Jul. 17th, 2009|12:42 am]
[mood | bored]

Hello, mr. Lance here, watching my mom's friends house and their two cats - two cats who happen to LOVE attention. They literally start meowing like mad whenever I walk into the room they're in, but I suspect it's just because they're begging for food too.

I have an itch to get back home soon since I really want to weight lift. It's weird how exercising becomes a habit that eats at you when you've done it so much and suddenly stop. Granted I've still been exercising while here, but not weight lifting. And speaking of weight lifting I really should get myself a bench so I have more range of movement when doing butterfly presses. I tried using the coffee table in the living room which worked alright, but I'm a tad bit afraid of breaking it since I'm not exactly light anymore. Anyway, I will probably be heading home tomorrow, or so I hope.

I FORGOT TO TURN OFF THE BILLY MAYS BUTTON [Jul. 10th, 2009|01:40 am]
[mood | tired]

I suppose I shall mention on here that I'm selling prints. Not that there are really that many people watching me that would be interested, but none the less I am selling particular prints.

View Prints and Prices )

I recently bought myself a silver PSP that looks absolutely amazing for being used(thank you Tanukisan!) and I will be modding it as soon as I get the pandora battery Shawn has. I ordered some various other things for it, such as repair parts, from Deal Extreme. It's rather nice being able to buy repair parts at an affordable price, unlike in America where they gouge the actual value of something like rubber button inserts for a gamepad that are worth about 25 cents.

Comic Time [Jul. 8th, 2009|01:36 am]
[mood |artistic]

Cassie was all angry about her ex-boyfriend and said she was so mad she would kick him in his tiny spot. Being overly inquisitive as usual I asked how small. Yeah, Cassie, you give to much info. Either that I or I inquire too easily. I'd also like to say even if you have a small one, if you know how to use and make your woman happy and reproduce that's A-okay.

The other day I was showing mom [info]trufflehog's artwork and she was very impressed by all of it. Then she goes and asks me a question like that. Mom almost never asks questions like that so I felt a bit embarrassed. As Luve put it, "I'm mother approved!" Yes, just like KIX cereal! :O

There's this really pretty girl who works at Trader Joe's. Every time I go in and she happens to be working I try to get her lane just to say hi. Even mom does that since she likes her too. Anyway, she found it weird when I bought a bar of chocolate and said it was for me. Then again she also said most men probably didn't admit they liked chocolate. Well, I like it!

Vanguard Princess [Jul. 7th, 2009|01:46 am]
[mood |geeky]

The other night Ollis gave me a link to a Kotaku post that has the link to a free, Japanese, 2D FIGHTING GAME! Ahem, not meaning to be overdramatic here, but the fact that it's free and the game looks as nice as it does is truely amazing. How nice, you ask? Well, watch this video here. [Or the one on the Kotaku page for that matter]

Graphically the game looks very nice. The sprites are quite large and high in detail and the animation is very fluid in movement. As for the gameplay, I'm still not quite certain how you use your secondary partners in it to help do attacks, but the style reminds me a lot of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure made by Capcom. And speaking of Capcom the maker of this game is supposedly an ex-Capcom employee so that may explain a bit? One thing I don't understand about most doujin/free fighting games that come from Japan(do they come from elsewhere?) are the backgrounds. Is it really that hard to make a background where it doesn't look like there are people just pasted in the back that stand around doing nothing. It's like there's no life to what is going on. In a way it reminds me of the new backgrounds in The King of Fighters 2002 Ultimate Match where there are characters just all standing around like nothing is going on.

Anyway, I reccommend you try the game. It's fun, and obviously a moe game with it's shaking boobs and panty shots everywhere. But aside from that the gameplay is solid and animation is very impressive. Now as for those who have trouble getting the game to work I'll explain what you do. First off, you must have Japanese installed which can be done from your Regional and Language settings, then you have to download Applocale from Microsoft's site. Applocale is what lets you get away with using foriegn character based programs in Windows. But before you can register the program in applocale you have to change the name of some folders and files. When you install the game there will be a folder named ヴァンガードプリンセス\ヴァンガードプリンセス(which if you see squares on your screen right now means you don't have Japanese installed). What you do is rename this folder to something in English, such as vanpri, and then you go inside the folder and rename the .exe file the same thing and then rename the ヴァンガードプリンセス\ヴァンガードプリンセス.kgt(the only file that ends in .kgt) to the same name as the .exe file. Register it in Applocale and you should be good to play.

Duuuudes [Jun. 5th, 2009|06:30 pm]
[mood | blah]

Like, surfs up, duuuuuuudes!

Shawn's presents he sent me came in the mail yesterday. He sent me two real drum sticks to try with my taiko drum since the plastic things are horrible. He also gave me some new rubber buttons for my DS and some more bandanas for when I exercise. I'll have to try the drum sticks sometime later. Thank you, Shawn. =D

I went with mom and my sister to Trader Joe's today to get food. Unfortunately my favorite person, Danielle, wasn't there. She's so pretty and acts so cute and sweet. If I were bold enough I'd ask for her number. Perhaps I will sometime, or make a contact card and give it to her.

I made some doodles recently on tiny piece of paper. They're all done in flat tones and look amusing.

I should really ask [info]trufflehog what kind of brush pens she uses for coloring her artwork. It would make flat tone stuff easier.

*blows out candles* [May. 27th, 2009|01:18 pm]
[mood | lonely]

So yesterday was my birthday. I didn't get any presents because I don't know what I want. Well, I know what I want but I can't always have what I want. Shawn is going to be sending me something and Lynsey drew me a picture, and I'm assuming Cassandra is still working on whatever she said she was gonna make me. Speaking of her, I gotta send out her commissioned artwork today.

The other day I went out with mom to get my little sister's birthday present(I know, long wait) at Radioshack. We got her a 4gb Sansa Fuze MP3 player. I must admit that for only about $60 it is very sturdy and well made. Heck, you could compare it to an iPod and still feel like your money was better spent on the cheaper Fuze. The fact that you can put extra microSD in it is also nice since my little sister SOMEHOW fills the thing up in no time at all.

Well, here's some artwork I've made recently.

=( [May. 16th, 2009|03:16 pm]
[mood | gloomy]

I was on my way to get something to eat and I saw a cat run across the street and get hit by a car. I wouldn't have been so bothered by it except this time the cat was bleeding and kicking in the middle of the street instead of dying instantly. It really bothered me.

*Russian Tetris Theme* [May. 10th, 2009|01:14 pm]
[mood | blah]

Nothin' like playing Tetris while sitting in your boxers, huh?

Nothing to really talk about today. My birthday is coming up at the end of the month and my parents are going to Ohio in June to see my oldest sister graduate from culinary school. I, for one, am not going because I'd rather not go, be bored, and feel ignored by the rest of the family whilst I sit around drawing and/or playing games to pass the time. I also don't feel like having the risk of catching strep throat again or any other sickness for that matter.

Recently, after going to Target, I have found something truely amazing! Pepsi Throwback! It's Pepsi made with regular sugar instead of corn syrup, like they made it back in the 70's(and possibly the 80's). It doesn't burn your throat like the stuff with corn syrup in it and the flavor is actually there instead of just massive amounts of sweetness. The only downside, in a way, is that each can is 150 calories instead of 100 calories like the regular kind sold now. Not that I really care, but I'm just sayin'.

I've been randomly drawing artwork, but I don't feel like posting most of it. Although I do still have some artwork to show.

*push push lift lift* [Apr. 9th, 2009|03:52 pm]
[mood | amused]

It's true! I asked Ollis for a good way to strengthen the chest and he showed me a video he found on youtube to help. It most certainly has shown results.

For anybody who is interested I had some prints made and they are for sale now. The smaller pictures are $15 which includes the shipping, and the large pictures are $24 because they cost more to ship. It's also $2 extra for overseas shipping because I have to first class/air mail it to make sure it gets there. Comment if you're interested or would like me to have a particular picture printed for you.

That aside, not much is new. I've been exercising more than usual and finally got my bike fixed so dad and I could go riding. He bought another road bike at a yard sale recently. It's an old one like he owned back in the 70's when he was in high school so he wants to fix it up again. Nostalgia I suppose. Oh yes, I also custom matted and framed one of my picture and hung it on my wall. It turned out nicely I think.

Speaking of artwork...

One last comic to show.

It's really annoying when this happens.

Good Afternoon Semi-frequent Readers [Mar. 31st, 2009|10:14 am]
[mood |awake]

Sure, Scully, take the scientific approach to Mulder's poor, splayed out eyes and sickly expression.

I've been watching X-Files lately and I remembered that I had drawn this doodle before. Poor Mulder goes through so much mental and physical hell in that show that it makes you wonder how he even stays alive. Oh, we all know why he stays alive; the truth. Or at least that's what he's wanting.

It was my sister's birthday on Friday. I bought her an R4 slot 1 cartridge for her DS so now she has whatever game/homebrew application she wants to play on her DS. She was quite pleased. As for the cake she made, it was a double chocolate cheesecake that was intensely rich. How rich? It was like eating a chocolate truffle cake! Although I have to admit it was very good.

For my geeky part of this entry I will say that I've been playing lots of old, Sega Genesis games because Shawn asked me of any good ones to play on his PSP. One of those games was Comix Zone, which is amazing for the Genesis in 1995, and now Shawn is, or was, addicted to it for a while. He also found one of my favorite shooters, Thunder Force III, a lot of fun even though he can't get past the first stage.

I'm going to ask this here even though I posted an entry about it elsewhere, but would any of you people be interested in prints of certain artwork I've made? I don't know how much they'll cost yet, but I can't imagine them being over $15-$25. I was planning on having prints done of Girls Having Lunch, Blue Betta, Do You Mind?, Can You Hear It?, English Garden, Love at Sea, and Rainy Day. If you're interested leave me a comment.

That aside, some newer stuff I've made.

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head [Mar. 16th, 2009|12:50 pm]
[mood | tired]
[music |Henry Mancini-Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head]

Lynsey was mentioning how I almost never draw bigger female characters. Well, here we go, some love for the chunkier types. It's bull terrier out in the rain. Speaking of rain, it has been raining here for four days straight, and I wouldn't mind some sunshine soon.

Where I live, shopping is a waste of time I've concluded. We, as in me and my sisters and mom, went to the art store yesterday and search of supplies we needed. Mom was looking for some black, faux suede fabric which she was unable to find. I went in search of colored, craft paper and colored pencils both of which they didn't have what I was looking for. The colored pencils I want have to all be ordered online because stores here only carry the standard 48 colors while I use well over 130 colors. And people wonder why I order everything online instead of going out shopping.

All this raining weather is making me feel so tired because my room is so dark and I have been unable to go outside to workout. We need some nice weather like this!

Cool, beach weather~

But from what the Farmer's Almanac says, it will be another drought year here. There is also a chance of a hurricane hitting here, again. I really do NOT like hurricanes here because of all the trees.

Gardening [Mar. 10th, 2009|01:20 pm]
[mood | lazy]

An English bull dog in his English garden.

Speaking of gardens, my older sister is trying to set her garden up in our backyard again, but the bad news is that there is supposedly going to be a drought again this year. That's never good for gardening at all. It also doesn't help that the weather here isn't a constant, normal climate like it was up north. Trying to grow food here is a task in itself unless you're growing tobacco.

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow because my wafro is getting a bit out of hand. It's always nice after I get my hair cut because my hair stops acting like a sponge when I take a shower or exercise.

Because I know some of you read my entries for this alone, art time.

*Ken music theme starts playing* [Mar. 7th, 2009|12:38 pm]
[mood | bored]

My friend, Justin, sent me a bunch of free Gamestop swag since he works at one of the stores. One of the goodies was a Street Fighter headband that he wanted to see me wear with pride. So I took some goofy photos of myself while wearing it.

The weather has been so insane these past few weeks. We actually got snow here and now it's around 75F outside. What does this mean? It means that the dreaded summer weather is slowly creeping its way back to scorch us. I swear VA never actually has a spring season.

It's raining outside. [Feb. 18th, 2009|01:27 pm]

Time to water the plants.

It's raining today which in turn makes the day cloudy and dreary feeling. That's not bad though because I can exercise indoors today instead. I've been doing a lot more squats recently with my exercise routine as well as doing the same squats while holding sixty pounds of weight. What I would really like is to buy some nunchaku and a nice bo staff to practice with. When I still took martial arts classes I learned the basics of using a bo staff and I liked it a lot, probably even more than using a sword.

Yesterday I took an application to Ben Franklin's again as well as buying a few art supplies I needed, and the girl at the counter said I could call up later and ask for a manager to check up on my application. I'd be willing to take a job there even if it were only twenty hours a week or so. Sometime later this week I plan on calling.

Speaking of art...

Parcel Force is GO [Feb. 9th, 2009|12:04 pm]

Aside from being one of the worst postal services in existance, every time I hear their name I think of sentai rangers. I may make this into a comic later once I get some ideas for it.

Whenever we make coffee in this house every body tends to crowd around the pot while holding a cup in their hand waiting to get some. My older sister said it was a lot like how buffalo stampede towards water when they find it. Yes, I know my buffalo look like evil, demonic shadow creatures, but I'm a lazy comic artist sometimes.

So what is new? Nothing is really new at all. Oh, wait, scratch that. I did finish the box kite with my sister yesterday.
